A big trend this Spring, and every Spring, is floral nails! In fact just a few weeks ago in our Pinterest roundup we focused on some of our favorite floral manicures that were circling Pinterest. Today we have our own floral nails tutorial for you! This tute is pretty cute with the polka dots and the floral accent nail, plus you only need one specialty tool- a dotter!
For this tutorial we used Ciate ‘Fashionista Sister’, Essie ‘Blanc’ and Sally Hansen ‘Rockstar Pink’. Our base coat was Sally Hansen ‘Miracle Growth’ and our topcoat was Seche Vite ‘Dry Fast Top Coat’. The only tool required is a dotter tool, preferably with different sized dots on each end. If you don’t have a dotter tool, you can use a bobby pin.
Steps:
Paint a base coat on all your fingers (we shouldn’t have to tell most of you this, but we are going to state the obvious anyway).
Paint two coats of your base color, ours is Ciate ‘Fashionista Sister’
Using your polka dot color, using the smaller side of your dotter, paint random polka dots all over your nails. Leave your ring finger plain. Our polka dot color is Sally Hansen ‘Rockstar Pink’.
Using the larger side of your dotter tool, in the middle of your ring finger, paint five dots in a circle, with the bottom of the edges overlapping. This creates the base of your flower. For our flower color, we used Essie ‘Blanc’.
Then using either end of your dotter (smaller creates a more delicate look, larger creates more of a daisy look), paint a dot in the centre of your flower. We used Sally Hansen ‘Rockstar Pink’ for this.
Wait for the pattern to dry and seal with a topcoat, we used Seche Vite ‘Dry Fast Top Coat’.
Repeat on your other hand and you are good to go (and impress all of your friends and family with your pretty nails!)
If you feel very confident with your dotter tool, you could paint flowers on every nail as well as the dots.
What do you think? We absolutely love this look! Comment below if you try our tutorial.
