Every October, things turn pink in aide of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Products bear little pink ribbons, and limited edition items are sold with funds going to various charities like Susan G Komen for the Cure, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
Two of our favorite polish brands are leading the charge in turning our nails pink, and we are only too happy to support them. For the seventh year, OPI are releasing a limited edition polish set, and making a $25,000 donation to Susan G Komen for the Cure. The OPI Pink of Hearts 2013 polish duo is a pale pink called Pink-ing of You, and a vibrant micro/macro glitter called More Than a Glimmer. Each set also comes with a sheet of 10 pink ribbon nail decals and 10 crystal decals.
Essie has also been supporting pink ribbon and breast cancer research since 2005, and have this year released two colors – Pink Works and Pink About It – as their 2013 Breast Cancer Awareness Collection. A portion of all sales go to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Creative Director Essie Weingarten said: “Pink is powerful, essie is built on the power of color and pink is a complete force of nature. It’s exhilarating and at the same time, it’s intensely calming, essie owes so much to pink and everything to women. So, when I stand up for the pink ribbon, I give my whole heart.”
So do we, Essie.
The OPI set is $15 and is available at Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $15.95. Each Essie polish is $8 and available at Salons, Nordstrom, and drug store stockists..
