National Wear Red Day is the first Friday of February, i.e. tomorrow! It is part of a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease. You can support Go Red for Women by participating in National Wear Red Day and donating to fund research during American Health Month.
Heart disease and strokes cause 1 in 3 deaths in women every year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. With your help and donations, this can be changed; 80% of cardiac and strokes events can be prevented with education and action. By wearing red this National Wear Red Day and donating to Go Red For Women, you can help support educational programmes aimed at increasing women’s awareness as well as critical research into scientific knowledge surrounding cardiovascular health in women.
Another integral part of this campaign is the Well-Woman Visit; a prevention check-up that reviews your overall health, including blood pressure and cholesterol checks, as well as looking for signs of heart disease and strokes.
So this Friday, February 5th share your picture of your red mani with the hashtags #GoRedWearRed and #WellWomenVisit to be part of the campaign!
