In The VIP Chair: Serenity Spa Review

Hands up who is a little tired of the millions of snow-storms that we have been experiencing in New York? I feel like a polar vortex has hit my exhausted body head on, and don’t even get me started on what my poor footsies are looking like especially after trudging around in my version of snow boots during NYFW (tan waterproof Cole Haan beauties – of course).

I was in desperate need of some pamper time so I decided to meet Tanya Klich, the data and lists editor at Entrepreneur.com, for what we like to call a ‘power pedi’; a combination of a hydrating spa pedicure and business meeting (or in this case, an interview). The salon of choice was Serenity Spa located 777 Sixth Ave in NYC.

We were greeted with a glass of Altaneve prosecco, a delicious Italian sparkling wine that literally left my taste buds tingling with delight. I will not confirm or deny if another glass was consumed while our feet were soaking in the luxurious Indonesian ginger salt bath. As we chatted our therapists worked their magic scrubbing away our impurities with an organic oil based sand scrub. Despite having frightfully ticklish feet (yes not the most attractive sight me squirming in the chair as my therapist tried to massage my feet) I have to say that my skin is glowing and feels so soft. I followed Tanya’s choice to have an elegant French pedicure and although the pale pink tone is just a touch too ‘pink’ for my liking, I actually loved the end result. That was until my French tip on my second toe chipped after day one. Oh well, you live and learn; maybe a French pedi wasn’t the best idea in winter.

Until next time,

Ruth
