Twice a year the fashion capitals of the world celebrate the upcoming trends for the new seasons. First, it was New York, then London, Milan and finally this week it is Paris’ turn. So let us summarize (and predict) the biggest nail trends and stand-out looks from Autumn Winter Fashion Week across the globe!
New York

If NYFW has taught us anything, it’s that nail art is back in a big way! From Cushnie et Ocens with their glitter tips to Han Wen’s lightning strike motifs to Tanya Taylor’s French Manis with a twist. Our favorite by far was the gorgeous layered nude ‘Strobe Effect’ created by Essie for Alexander Wang (pictured above). Who knew that layering different nude polishes could create such a gorgeous effect?
London

Statement dark and nude nails were the most popular choice for London Fashion Week- with Glossy Black by CND for Ryan Lo; Burgundy for Peter Pilotto and Deep Red for Temperley London. On the opposite side of the spectrum, some labels went for completely OTT nail art like Gareth Pugh’s textured tips. For us, the standout look was Moschino’s colorful cuticles (pictured above).
Milan
Much like London, a combination of dark and nude nails dominated the catwalk, letting the clothing do the talking. Roberto Cavalli used a deep red that paired beautifully with the different textures of red fabric in the show and Prada used a sleek nude color to emphasize the beautiful pieces. There was one exception, with Moschino using their pink and orange colorful cuticles look again. But when you have such a gorgeous idea, why not use it again and again?
Paris
If New York, London, and Milan are anything to go by, understated nails are NEVER going out of fashion! The classic dark colors like red, burgundy and chocolate brown will always look good and so will a sleek nude. That being said, the overstated nail art trend has made a comeback and we are loving it! For Paris Fashion Week we are predicting a combination of nail art, but with more understated colors.
